Today was a traveling & sightseeing in the beautiful Oregon forests and scenic Pacific Coast Highway.  We made two significant stops, the Tillamook Cheese Factory and Ft. Clatsop at the Lewis & Clark National Historic Park.  The cheese tour and cheese & ice cream tasting was very, very, very good!  Ft. Clatsop was a unique historic experience for us.  We were immersed in the lives of the Corps of Discovery through their reconstructed winter home and the interpreters of the expedition. We can never get enough of the vistas along the Pacific Coast Highway.  We wish that we had the time to travel Highway 101 from beginning to end!

Fire tower...so important in Smokey the Bear's forests!
This impressive Tillamook Forest was completely burned down
3 times...and has been totally restored through massive
planting efforts since 1959!
