Today we explored the immense Olympic National Park.  This park is a mosaic of ecosystems, including wilderness beaches, snow-fed rivers, ancient trees sheltering wildlife, and rugged peaks embracing glaciers and subalpine meadows.  Coast, forest, and mountain combine to create this spectacular wilderness park. Established in 1909 as a National Monument, it became Olympic National Park in 1939.  It was a typical rainy, cool day for us to explore Olympic, so pictures may again be somewhat hazy.  Please take a look at this amazing gift to America.
