Today was a sightseeing day.  We drove Magellin II into Yosemite Valley, saw Half Dome, El Capitan, the Cathedral Spires, North Dome, Washington Column, Royal Arches and some anemic waterfalls (due to not much snow last winter).  The Waterfalls included Bridalveil, Upper, Middle, & Lower Yosemite, Vernal and Nevada Falls. At the visitor center we watched an excellent film on the "Spirit of Yosemite." (We always recommend seeing these well made films about the National Parks at the visitor centers when available.) The view from Glacier Point on the South rim of the Canyon takes your breath away.  Looking north past Half Dome up the Tenaya Valley gouged out by the same glacier that cut away the front of Half Dome.  At Glacier Point we met two young physicians from New York city that had hiked up the four mile trail from the Valley Floor at 4,000 ft to Glacier Point at 7,214 feet....or a vertical climb in 4 miles of 3,214 feet.  They had just missed their shuttle bus that would have transported them down to the Valley.  We took pitty on the weary hikers and gave them a lift to the Valley via a 26 mile road descent.  They were very relieved and thankful for our assistance...and the hikers didn't even try to kill us!!
